Stem Cell Scientist
About the Company:
Ovelle is revolutionizing fertility treatment through human in vitro oogenesis—producing eggs from somatic cells. We have developed technology to create the cell types of the ovary from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) by manipulating expression of transcription factors and RNA-binding proteins. Notably, we are the first company to produce meiotic oocyte-like cells from human iPSCs. This is an important step towards in vitro oogenesis because activating meiosis has been a key challenge in the field. We are incorporating these meiotic oocyte-like cells into ovarian organoids to create synthetic ovaries capable of producing eggs. By innovating egg production, we aim to make fertility treatments more accessible and affordable. If we are successful, it will mark a paradigm shift in treatments for infertility, and offer a new path to parenthood for millions of people around the world. Come help us build the exciting future we all want to live in.
About the Specific Role:
We seek a Stem Cell Scientist to optimize and execute iPSC differentiation protocols. In this role you will lead this effort, which is critical to the success of human in vitro oogenesis. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in a field with immense potential to impact global health and happiness.
How You Will Contribute:
Qualifications:
Ovelle is a research-first startup where scientists work together on only one deep and important problem: IVG. We operate like a fast, efficient academic lab without constraints. We’re committed to sharing our work with the scientific community and welcome collaborations with academic researchers.
We recently closed an oversubscribed funding round led by a top-tier VC firm, giving us 3–4 years of runway at our current pace.
We encourage everyone to apply, as we value individuals who bring unique perspectives to our company. We welcome talented researchers; specific expertise in reproductive biology is not required.

This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in a field with immense potential to impact global health and happiness.
How You Will Contribute:
- Lead the optimization and execution of iPSC differentiation protocols.
- Design and implement transcription factor screening experiments to identify key regulators of ovarian cell fate.
- Develop and characterize 3D ovarian organoids (ovaroids) by co-culturing iPSC-derived granulosa-like cells with meiotic oogonia
- Collaborate with our bioinformatics team to interpret bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing data, contributing to the understanding of ovarian cell development and function.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field; or track record of innovation
- Experience working with human pluripotent stem cells and directed differentiation protocols.
- Proficiency in genetic engineering techniques, including plasmid design and cloning, CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing, lentiviral/transposon-based gene delivery systems, and pooled library screens.
- Experience with flow cytometry, fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), and immunofluorescence microscopy, including experimental design and data analysis.
- Familiarity with sequencing technologies, particularly single-cell RNA-seq, and basic bioinformatics skills for data analysis.
- Proven track record of successful execution of complex, multi-step cell culture protocols and 3D organoid systems.
