Organoid Culture Scientist
About the Company:
Ovelle is revolutionizing fertility treatment through human in vitro oogenesis—producing eggs from somatic cells. We have developed technology to create the cell types of the ovary from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) by manipulating expression of transcription factors and RNA-binding proteins. Notably, we are the first company to produce meiotic oocyte-like cells from human iPSCs. This is an important step towards in vitro oogenesis because activating meiosis has been a key challenge in the field. We will incorporate these meiotic oocyte-like cells into ovarian organoids to create synthetic ovaries capable of producing eggs. By innovating egg production, we aim to make fertility treatments more accessible and affordable. If we are successful, it will mark a paradigm shift in treatments for infertility, and offer a new path to parenthood for millions of people around the world. Come help us build the exciting future we all want to live in.
About the Specific Role:
We seek an Organoid Culture Scientist to lead the development of advanced culture techniques for in vitro oogenesis, focusing on ovarian organoids. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating the optimal microenvironment for gamete development by leveraging tissue from mammalian models. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in a field with immense potential to impact global health and happiness.
How You Will Contribute:
Qualifications:
Ovelle is a research-first startup where scientists work together on only one deep and important problem: IVG. We operate like a fast, efficient academic lab without constraints. We’re committed to sharing our work with the scientific community and welcome collaborations with academic researchers.
We are well funded and have future funding commitments.
We encourage everyone to apply, as we value individuals who bring unique perspectives to our company. We welcome talented researchers; specific expertise in reproductive biology is not required.
